PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve device capable of keeping the sealability between a valve main body and a valve element in closing a channel, even when the valve device is applied in a piping system for circulating a fluid matter of various characteristics. SOLUTION: In this valve device comprising the valve main body 1 comprising an upstream side-connection port Pu connected with a pipe and a downstream-side connection port Pd, and having a circulation hole 10 for communicating the upstream-side connection port Pu and the downstream-side connection port Pd with each other, and the valve element 2 for opening and closing the circulation hole 10, the valve main body 1 is provided with a valve element accommodating space 11 for dividing the circulation hole 10 into an upstream side and a downstream side, the valve element 2 is mounted in the valve element accommodating space 11 in a state that a part between the valve element and a wall surface 12 forming the valve element accommodating space 11 is sealed and the valve element can be moved in the direction intersecting with a central line of the circulation hole 10 while keeping a sealed state, and an opening hole 20 for opening the circulation hole 10 and a closing part 21 for closing the circulation hole 10 are formed in parallel in the moving direction of the valve element 2.
