PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing sintered ore by which, even if iron ore other than high-quality iron ore is used, granulated pellet size can be increased and the fluidity of melt formed in the course of sintering is improved, consequently both hot and cold permeability can be improved resulting in enhancement in the cold strength of sintered ore, to provide a method for producing a raw material for sintering for obtaining the above sintered ore, to provide a granulated pellet as the raw material for sintering and further to provide the sintered ore obtained by using the above method for producing the sintered ore. SOLUTION: The method for producing sintered ore comprises forming, on the surface of a nucleus particle 51 containing iron ore, a first coating layer 52 using an iron-containing substance and optionally an SiO<SB>2</SB>-containing raw material, and subsequently a second coating layer 53 using limestone and a solid fuel based raw material, to prepare a granulated pellet 50, and then sintering the granulated pellet 50 to produce the sintered ore 50a, wherein the iron-containing substance used for forming the first coating layer 52 has≤20% porosity or has≤20% porosity and≤2.1 mass% Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>content, and wherein the iron ore for the nucleus particle has a porosity higher than that of the iron-containing substance used in the first coating layer 52, or either or both of the porosity and Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>content of the iron ore for the core pellet are higher than those of the iron-containing material used in the first coating layer 52.
