PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recorder in which registration gap of each image caused by local variation in the carrying speed of a recording medium can be corrected when images are recorded sequentially on the recording medium being carried by a plurality of recording means. SOLUTION: Rotational speed of rolls 100YA-100KB for carrying a sheet P is detected by encoders 154YA-154KB to produce encoder pulse signals 156YA-156KB, and the forward end of the sheet P under carriage is detected by a sheet sensor 152 to produce a sensor signal 158.
