<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor display device using a protective circuit capable of effectively preventing dielectric breakdown. <P>SOLUTION: When a first interlayer insulating film is formed while coating a TFT used as a protective diode and a second interlayer insulating film as an insulating coating film is formed while coating a wiring formed on the first interlayer insulating film, the wiring for connecting the TFT and another semiconductor element is formed so as to be brought into contact on the second interlayer insulating film for ensuring a path in which charges stored on the surface of the second interlayer insulating film are discharged.
