PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector which easily enables locking release of a retainer by a release jig. SOLUTION: In the connector 10 in which the retainer 12 is assembled in a housing 11, the locking release of the retainer 12 locked at a locking position is achieved by hooking a hook D1 of the release jig D in a jig insertion part 17 arranged in the retainer 12 on the basis of the principle of leverage. Since a fulcrum 18 of the release jig D is formed so as to protrude outward from the housing 11, it is possible to make a distance between the jig insertion part 17 of the retainer 12 to be an application point and the fulcrum 18 to be a fulcrum longer than the distance in a usual connector. Consequently, in the locking release by the release jig D, the retainer 12 can be lifted up to the position that the locking state of the retainer 12 is fully released even if a tilting amount is less compared with the amount in the usual connector, and a load produced at the application point is increased, thus enabling the locking release more easily.
