PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition for an insulated wire for composing an insulation film having a satisfactory mechanical properties, and an insulated wire which uses the same. SOLUTION: The coating composition for an insulated wire for forming an insulation film around outer periphery of a conductor 11, is compounded by mixing 0.01 to 10.0 wt. parts of compound forming a complex with the conductor, and 0.001 to 10.0 wt.% of amorphous thermosetting polymer, having the glass transition temperature of not lower than 180°C, to 100 wt. parts of resin components of a base material composing a main part of the coating composition.
