PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary positive electrode type X-ray tube capable of reliably preventing leakage of a liquid metal lubricating material, maintaining a stable bearing operation for a long period and ensuring satisfactory withstand voltage performance, and a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: The rotary positive electrode type X-ray tube comprises: a positive electrode target 11 for emitting X rays; a rotation supporting mechanism 14 that rotatably supports the positive electrode target 11 and has a rotating body 15 and a fixed body 20 provided with slide bearings Ra, Rb in the radial direction in a plurality of regions in opposing portions and slide bearings Sa, Sb in the thrust direction in different opposing portions; and a liquid metal lubricating material LM supplied to the slide bearing regions Ra, Rb, Sa and Sb. The anode type X ray tube further comprises lubricating material storing chambers 26a, 26b shaped like a blind hole. An end of each of the chambers 26a, 26b is closed in the inside of the fixed body 20, and the other end is open to a non-bearing region Rc sandwiched between the slide bearings Ra, Rb in the radial direction.
