ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND HIGHLIGHT DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device which controls highlight display appropriately. SOLUTION: Data read from a disk drive 3 is stored in a stream buffer area 4 and outputted to a stream decoder 5. The stream decoder 5 takes out a subimage pack comprising subimage data and transfers it to a subimage decoder 8. The subimage decoder 8 has a function for setting up a plurality of highlights. A navigation manager 13 reads navigation data stored in a stream buffer area 4. The navigation manager 13 provides a presentation engine 14 with highlight information, and the presentation engine 14 controls the subimage decoder 8 based on the highlight information and performs display state management and interruption notice for time controlled highlight for the highlight.
