CONTROL VALVE TYPE LEAD STORAGE BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control valve type storage battery which exhibits a good cycle lifetime in applications to the cycle use to repeat deep charge/discharge. SOLUTION: The control valve type lead storage battery is equipped with a group of electrode plates wherein positive electrode plates and negative electrode plates filled with active substance pastes are alternately laminated via retainer mats. The retainer mat has a density of≥0.14 g/cm3and less than 0.24 g/cm3at a pressure of 20 kg/dm2, a maximum pore size of≥24μm and less than 33μm, and an ignition loss rate of≥0.1 mass% and less than 0.9 mass%.
