PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solenoid valve enabling restriction of vibration of a valving element and a plunger by providing flow resistance to fluid flowing with movement of the plunger equipped for the solenoid valve and generating damping force. SOLUTION: The solenoid valve equipped with a flow-in port and a flow-out port of the fluid, a cylindrical solenoid, a plunger chamber formed at an inner peripheral side of the solenoid, the plunger for moving in an axial direction in the plunger chamber by magnetic flux generated by the solenoid and the valving element, provided at an end side of the plunger, interlocking with the plunger and conducting open/close action of a flow passage between the flow-in port and the flow-out port is equipped with a drain port for discharging fluid leaked from the flow-out port side to the plunger chamber of the other end side of the plunger, a drain chamber formed between the drain port and the plunger chamber, a damping force generating member for providing flow resistance to fluid distributing between the drain chamber and the plunger chamber when the plunger moves and for generating damping force to damp vibration of the plunger and the valving element. The damping force generating member has a throttle passage.
