PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine cooling water bypass controller capable of suppressing excessive cooling of an engine by controlling flow rate of cooling water flowing in an engine cooling water passage based on calorific value of the engine. SOLUTION: A water pump 25 is arranged between an outlet 19 of thermostat 17 and an inlet 12 for engine cooling water, and a discharge port 27 of the water pump 25 is connected to a suction port 26 of the water pump 25 with a water pump bypass passage 33. A flow rate control valve 35 is arranged in the water pump bypass passage 33 and is controlled in accordance with engine calorific value to suppress excessive cooling of the engine.
