TATAMI MAT AND MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR SPECIAL SHAPED TATAMI MAT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the strength of connection between a tatami core and a tatami facing higher enough to enable a tatami mat to be used as an original tatami mat (floor material) irrespective of the shape in top view, and to hardly cause various wears and tears even due to tatami mat work (work for lifting/laying the tatami mat on an indoor floor). SOLUTION: Part of the end of rush strings in the outer circumferential part 4a of the tatami mat where the end of the rushes are arranged is provided in advance with terminal treatment parts 10 and 11 along the longitudinal direction of the tatami mat 3a as the outer peripheral side face 3a of the tatami mat 3 corresponding to the part of the end of the rush strings.
