摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and an endoscope apparatus in which an image with good S/N as much as possible is acquired, a sufficiently bright image is acquired even when photographing a dark object, an image with good S/N is acquired when photographing a comparatively bright object, and the brightness of the image can be easily controlled by a user. SOLUTION: The imaging device and the endoscope apparatus have a light source 1 radiating the object with an illumination light, a CCD 18 as an imaging element incorporating an amplification ratio varying mechanism for photographing the object, an amplification circuit 24 capable of varying the amplification ratio for amplifying an imaging signal acquired by photographing with the CCD, a light quantity control circuit 9 controlling the light quantity supplied by the light source 1, a brightness set switch 13 for setting the target value of the amplification performed within the CCD 18, the target value the amplification performed with the amplification circuit 24, and the target value of the control performed with the light quantity control circuit 9. The signal output from the amplification circuit 24 is adjusted at a predetermined level of brightness based on the respective target values set by the brightness set switch 13.
