METHOD FOR THE MANIPULATION-PROOF SAVING OF ELECTRONIC FILES

The invention relates to a method for the manipulation-proof saving and subsequent reading of computer files in such a way that they cannot be read or manipulated by unauthorised persons and that the time when the files were saved can be identified and proof provided that they have not been modified since they were saved. The method for saving files comprises the following steps: a) the provision of at least one original file that is to be saved in a client computer; b) the removal of individual parts of the original file according to a predetermined data separation method, the removed file parts being transmitted in the form of a segmented file and the remaining file parts in the form of a residual file, whereby both the residual file and the segmented file contain mutilated contents that cannot be read; c) removal of the segmented file to a memory location that cannot be accessed by unauthorised users.
