<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a night vision system that generate a color infrared image of a road scene in front of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a night vision method and system for a road scene comprising at least one projection device emitting an infrared light towards the road scene and a first sensor for capturing a first image of the road scene, this sensor being a color sensor and being associated with a monochromatic (black-and-white) sensor that is a second sensor. The monochromatic sensor that has high sensitivity with regard to the infrared light, captures the infrared image of the road scene and simultaneously, the color sensor captures a color image of the road scene, thereby forming the color infrared image of the road scene. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
