LIGHTING METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting method by which visibility and comfortableness are compatible by adding appropriate glare, and to provide a lighting device.

SOLUTION: In the lighting method for recognizing in the sight direction a visual object emitting the vertical surface illuminance of e.g., approximately 10 lx, a light source 13 is arranged at a position of approximately 10° away from the sight direction of an observer 12 in the case that the observer 12 recognizes the visual object 14, and the light source 13 emits light so that a solid angle viewed from the observer 12 is approximately 1.0×lO-4(sr), and glare luminance is ≥100 cd/m2and ≤2,000 cd/m2.
