<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a firm magnetic encoder which is excellent wear resistance, has no breakage of a green compact by spring back in time of molding, and also has a excellent mechanical strength of a sintered compact, and excellent productivity. <P>SOLUTION: This magnetic encoder 10 comprises multipole magnet 14 alternately formed with magnetic poles in a circumferential direction. The multipole magnet 14 is a sintered compact formed by sintering mixed powder of magnetic powder and non-magnetic metal powder.
