<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin for an offset printing ink, without using an alkylphenol and formaldehyde, capable of obtaining more than equivalent performance with that of the conventional rosin-modified phenolic resin. <P>SOLUTION: This resin for the offset ink having 120-220°C softening point and 5,000-300,000 weight-average molecular weight is obtained by performing the reaction of (a) a polymerized rosin, (b) at least one of plant oil, polymerized plant oil, plant oil fatty acids and other higher fatty acids, (c) an unsaturated dibasic acid, (d) a polyhydric alcohol, and (e) a polyalkylene glycol. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
