PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always accurately control toner density by accurately setting a specified range of aimed toner density. SOLUTION: A specified range of the aimed density can be determined by correctly setting a tolerable specified range of toner density TD (%) based on formula (2): TD≤äγt×Vt/Nt/(γc×Vc)}×100 using the average volume diameter Dcav_vol (μm) of a magnetic carrier and the average volume diameter Dtav_vol (μm) of the toner.
