PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat display device and a method for testing the flat display device which are applied, for example, to a liquid crystal display device with a driving circuit integrally formed on an insulating substrate, so as to simply and certainly detect a defect related to a potential failure. SOLUTION: An interrupting switching circuit SW1 to interrupt connection between a horizontal driving circuit 7 and a signal line LC of a display part 6 is arranged and a connecting switching circuit SW2 to connect the signal line LC of the display part 6 to an external device is arranged.
