PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure while reducing the thickness and the size by a small cogging torque generating means, and to stop a rotor stably at a specified position while sustaining the strength. SOLUTION: In an axial air gap type single phase brushless motor where a rotor (R) having a six pole magnet (20) is rotary supported on a stator (S) having a pair of air core coils (6A, 6B) arranged on a base (2), a magnetic material (9) having a length substantially equal to one half of the circumferential length of the air core section is fixed in parallel with a bracket on the side opposite to the rotational direction with respect to a reference line (Y) in the air core section (6C) of one (6A) of the pair of air core coils, and a Hall sensor (7) is provided on other reference line (X) passing the center of rotation on the base (2) and making a right angle to the reference line.
