PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an illegal copy by copying data flowing on a CPU bus when both an AV apparatus and a computer or the like are available and encrypted data are transmitted to the apparatuses. SOLUTION: In a digital apparatus employing an interface according to unified standards to handle both a dedicated digital apparatus and a general digital apparatus such as a computer as a transmission/reception interface when transmitting encrypted data, a reception side I/F means of the unified standards being constituted in accordance with whether an apparatus used at a receiving side is a dedicated digital apparatus or a general digital apparatus is recognized compatible with the dedicated or the general digital apparatus, and only when the reception side I/F means is provided in the corresponding digital apparatus, normal data transmission is performed between a transmitting side and the receiving side.
