PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of performing effective white blemish correction, even if a boundary of shade exists near a defective pixel, or contrast changes rapidly. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises an OB (Optical Black) value calculator 101 for calculating a mean for optical black values at each vertical line in the upper optical black region of an imaging device 100, a white blemish determination portion 102 for determining whether a white blemish exists at each vertical line, based on the mean for OB values calculated by the OB value calculator 101, a white blemish correction portion 103 for performing white blemish correction for a vertical line determined that it has the white blemish, using OB values.
