A device for coupling a tractor hitch linkage 1, 2 to a plough frame 3 comprises an axle connecting the lower draft links and being formed in two parts 4, 5 adapted to rotate relative to one another each of the parts mounting bearing plates 6, 7 secured to the plough frame. The part 4 can rotate but is held in axial position by a pin 9 in the sleeve 8 secured to the part 5. The sleeve 8 supports a member 10 adapted to receive adjustably the upper hitch link 2. A bail member 11 is secured to the bearing plates, passes between the bifurcated end of member 10 and is connected to the frame 3 by braces 16. The bail member also supports a hand lever 14 arranged to operate through a linkage to turn the part 4 of the axle. With an increase in soil resistance the bail member engages the front of the member 10 and thus compresses the upper link to operate the draft control mechanism. In lighter soils the bail member assumes an intermediate position in the bifurcation of the member 10 and does not affect draft control. In the transport position the bail member engages against an adjustable screw 12 in the member 10. |
