PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overhead opening/closing device which has an increased effective frontage height of an opening section. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the opening/closing device, a pipe body 16 is connected to the uppermost panel body 2a of a door body 1 via a length adjusting member 17, and a joint member 20 is connected to one of right and left ends of the pipe body 16. Further a movable body 9 which is movable in an indoor/outdoor direction upon driving of an opening/closing machine 7, is connected to the joint member 20. On the other hand, a traveling rail 8 along which the movable body 9 travels is arranged adjacently to a lower portion of one of right and left guide rail horizontal portions 5b in a ceiling section.
