PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a paper feeder from being damaged even if the bottom plate of a paper feeding cassette is overrun. SOLUTION: This paper feeder comprises a paper stacking part having a paper stacking plate on which a plurality of paper sheets are stacked and rotatably disposed around a specified pivot, a paper feeding mechanism part disposed on the upper side of the paper stacking part and feeding paper sheets from the paper loading part in a paper carrying direction, and a drive plate member disposed on the downstream side from the specified pivot in the paper carrying direction and rotated in a direction for raising the paper loading plate. The drive plate member further comprises a divided body separated into at least two parts and a connection part for connecting the divided body with a predetermined connection force.
