<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a surface light emitting apparatus that can hermetically seal recesses which are irradiated with a light on the front and rear surfaces thereof and provided in the surfaces of diffusion plates, and an electronic apparatus with lighting. <P>SOLUTION: Diffusion plates 2, 4 are constructed by transparent plate-shaped members having the recesses 2b, 4b in surfaces 2a, 4a. The diffusion plates 2, 4 have the same shape, and are superimposed such that the surfaces 2a, 4a are opposed to each other. When a light is irradiated from the end faces 2d, 4d of the diffusion plates 2, 4 superimposed in such a manner, to the interior of the diffusion plates 2, 4, the light is reflected at the recesses 2b, 4b and diffused in the front and back sides directions. Since the diffusion plates 2, 4 have the same shape, the manufacturing cost can be reduced, thus providing the surface light emitting apparatus that emits light in the front and back sides directions at a low cost. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
