PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection apparatus and an inspection method capable of preventing the phenomenon that no defects are found in a liquid crystal cell or liquid crystal display by its inspection, even though a defect is found by an inspection of its array board, and capable of judging to be defective when the array board is in a state of being a single component and not assembled yet. SOLUTION: This inspection device 10 comprises a stage 14 for arranging the array board 12 on, an inspection section for inspecting the electric property of the array board 12, a light shielding lid 16 for shielding the array board 12 from light, and air blowing means for blowing dry air 18 against the surface of the array board 12.
