<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem, wherein the water heating operation by a heat pump unit cannot be made during space heating operation (or bath heating operation) because of switching a circuit for allowing hot water for space heating to return to a hot water storage tank and a circuit for allowing the hot water to return to the hot water storage tank from a heat pump unit by a channel switching valve. <P>SOLUTION: The heat pump apparatus comprises a channel switching means 12 for switching a hot water upper circuit 10 and a hot water lower circuit 11; a bath heat exchanger 15 for heating bath water by the hot water of the hot water storage tank 7; a bath water heating pump 16 for carrying the hot water in the hot water storage tank 7 to the bath heat exchanger 15; and a bath water heating circuit 17 for connecting the hot water tank 7, the bath heat exchanger 15, and the bath water heating pump 16.
