<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a product function setting method and system capable of checking a checksum by an external device and checking the sort of a written parameter. <P>SOLUTION: When an operator selects a writing pattern to be transferred, the pattern file of the selected writing pattern is transferred from a parameter writing tool to a master unit in which a program is to be set (step 103). The master unit overwrites the received pattern file on a corresponding part of an EEP-ROM (step 201), and then calculates a checksum (step 202) and transmits the calculated checksum to the parameter writing tool (step 203). At the time of receiving the checksum, the parameter writing tool compares the received checksum with respective checksums in a plurality of patterns (step 105), reads out a display message of a checksum corresponding to the received checksum and displays the read display message on a display part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
