PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an A/D conversion circuit which can operate with low voltage and in simple configurations and a disk playback system using it. SOLUTION: This A/D converter generates a binary digital signal by using an encoder by forming a plurality of bit thermometer codes of a plurality of bits by using a plurality of voltage comparators to one input terminal of which a plurality of reference voltages formed by a resistance ladder are inputted, and to the other input terminal of which an input analog signal is commonly supplied. The output terminals of differential amplifier circuits included in the voltage comparator are connected through a resistance ladder for averaging to each other. There are arranged first and second terminating circuits constituted of first and second dummy amplifier circuits constituted in the same circuit configurations as those of the differential amplifier circuits and first and second resistance elements arranged between both ends of their low level and high level saturated output voltages and the resistance ladder for averaging and the output terminals of the first and second dummy amplifier circuits corresponding to them. Thus, it is possible to correct the input/output characteristics of the differential amplifier circuit to ideal characteristics. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
