PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus for generating a difference image in which aging of an object is clearly recognized from a first image and a second image indicating the object picked up at different times. SOLUTION: When a portion region is designated from the difference image because the difference image is not clear, a first parameter for coordinate conversion for solving positional deviation or distortion of the second image from the first image which is previously stored is used to match the positions between the images, and then a first portion image of the first image and a second portion image of the second image with respect to the portion image are extracted. For the first portion image and the second portion image which are extracted, a second parameter for coordinate conversion for solving the positional deviation or distortion between the images is calculated, the positions between the images are matched using this second parameter before generating the first portion image and the second portion image, and the generated images are displayed so as to be overlapped on the difference image.
