摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the luminance difference depending on the variation in element characteristics without drastically degrading the brightness of display images. SOLUTION: The flat panel display device is equipped with a plurality of display pixels PX constituting a display screen, a video processing circuit 4 respectively correcting video signals for the plurality of the display pixels PX so as to compensate the differences in the element characteristic of the plurality of the display pixels PX, and X and Y drivers 2 and 3 for driving the corresponding display pixels PX by the driving signals having the pulse widths corresponding to the respective video signals from the video processing circuit 4 and the pulse voltage increased so as to negate the degradation in the luminance accompanying the compensation of the differences. More particularly the video processing circuit 4 is configured to multiply the video signals for the corresponding display pixels PX by each of a plurality of correction coefficients determined so as to compensate the differences in the element characteristics of the plurality of the display pixels PX and to impart the desired luminance distribution to the plurality of the display pixels PX.
