PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a safe composition for oral cavity effective for preventing and treating periodontoses. SOLUTION: The composition for oral cavity contains one or more compounds selected from dehydroabietic acid, hydroxyabietic acid, tetrahydroxyabietic acid and their salts. More specifically, this composition is to be used for preventing/treating periodontoses by effectively inhibiting matrix metalloprotease activity by the above compound(s).
