PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool which is inexpensive and can surely remove a crank pulley of an engine while reducing an additional working time and cost without removing additional components when the crank pulley of the engine is removed. SOLUTION: The pulley fixing tool for stopping the turning of the crank pulley when the crank pulley is removed from the engine comprises a first fixing portion 2 for fixing the crank pulley, a winding member for being wound around a pulley configured on this fixing portion, and a body portion connected to the winding member. The first fixing portion comprises the winding member for being wound around the outer periphery of the crank pulley by one rotation and more. The method for overhauling the engine stops the turning of the crank pulley using the pulley fixing tool when the crank pulley is removed from the engine. The first fixing portion is provided on the crank pulley and a second fixing portion 4 is fixed to a dynamo pulley 8.
