摘要 <p>Producing a catalyst or catalyst support comprises adding an aqueous solution with a titanium content (as dioxide) of 10-250 g/l at a defined rate to an up to 10 wt.% aqueous suspension of an inorganic carrier with a BET surface area above 20 m 2>/g and an average particle size below 10 mu m, thereby depositing hydrated titanium oxide on the carrier, and filtering, washing and calcining the product. Producing a catalyst or catalyst support comprises adding an aqueous solution with a titanium content (as dioxide) of 10-250 g/l to an up to 10 wt.% aqueous suspension of an inorganic carrier with a BET surface area above 20 m 2>/g and an average particle size below 10 mu m, the solution being added at a rate corresponding to no more than 0.05 g titanium dioxide per m 2>of carrier surface per hour, thereby depositing hydrated titanium oxide on the carrier, and filtering, washing and calcining the product. An independent claim is also included for producing a catalyst or catalyst support by precipitating hydrated preforms of one or more metal or metalloid oxides and hydrated titanium oxide from an aqueous solution, where at least 30 g of solids (calculated as anhydrous oxide) are precipitated per liter of suspension per hour, and filtering, washing and calcining the product.</p>
