Connections are provided to feed the unit with water from a heating- or air conditioning system, and to feed treated water from it, into the heating- or air conditioning system. A replaceable cartridge (11) contains the packing (5) of precious and/or semi-precious stones. An additional water treatment unit, a filtration unit, is integrated, containing the packing. It includes round brushes of metallic material, preferably stainless steel. A water blow-down valve (13) and an aeration/deaeration unit (14) are provided on the casing (2). The unit is installed in a circulation line (6) or its bypass, forming part of the heating- or air conditioning system. The unit is incorporated in a recirculating, room heating system.
