Hydraulic fluid moved by a pump into the hydraulic steering system of a vehicle performs a pulsating motion resulting in vibrations and a related noise. The compensating device (4) is of a cylindrical shape and contains a multitude of miniature ducts (5), distributing the fluid more evenly. The ducts (5) are created by winding up a metal foil (6) provided with an impregnated pattern and inserting the drum shaped unit into the housing (5).
