The edge drive (4), for the limit (3) of a sliding bar to operate the locks at a window or door, is between the pinion (14) which acts on a bar section (13) and a holder (11) for a second pinion (15) with a handle and a reduction gearing (16). A coupling section (18), which links the two pinions together, has teeth (21) at one end meshing with the projections (20) of the second pinion and the other end is connected to the axis (17) of the first pinion on one side, and a counter section (19) is on the other side with teeth (22) meshing with the projections (24) of the first pinion and also the second pinion. The coupling and counter sections ride within guides (25,26) in the housing (12).
