PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route guiding apparatus that allows a driver to reliably drive a branch path that the driver should advance without missing his/her way even in a complicated crossing or the like, improves safety, and to provide a route guidance method and a program for route guidance. SOLUTION: The route guiding apparatus 1 for performing route guidance to the destination to a vehicle comprises destination setting means 14, 24 for setting the destination; a route guiding means 14 for setting a route to the destination and guiding the route to perform route guidance to the destination; visual recognition guidance means 14, 40 that decide whether the visible behavior of the driver to the route guidance due to the route guiding means is correct or not and then carries out affirmation in a correct case, and visually recognize and guide the driver for performing the route guidance in a wrong case; and visual recognition guidance prohibition means 14, 40 for prohibiting visual recognition guidance by the visual recognition guidance means under given conditions, and performing visual recognition guidance by the path guiding means.
