Hospital bed or bed for nursing home, comprising lifting unit accommodated in watertight housing

The bed is equipped with a height adjusting unit acting on the telescopic legs and forming their upper ends. A housing (9) made of injection molded aluminum is positioned between the legs accommodating the electric drive in the central area underneath. The mechanism is assembled of a belt and pulley system located on top of a platform (10) covered by an upper shell (11) with a sealing element integrated in its lower edge. The shells of a housing (9) attached to the bed in a nursing home can be joined with less screws (12') than a housing (9) used for a hospital bed which has to be more frequently cleaned with pressurized water.
