The transmission for a motor vehicle has a plate carrier (3) connected in torsionally fixed manner to the output flange (1) of the transmission and to brake plates (4). The plate carrier is in communication with a bowl-shaped element (10) which during rotation of the plate carrier receives lubricating fluid and transmits it to the plates. The plate carrier is connected in a torsionally fixed manner to a planet carrier (2) of a planetary gear or is constructed in one piece with it.
