Lectern comprises two arms (5, 6) that are hinged together. One arm is hinged on the lectern surface (2) and one arm is hinged on a base plate (1). In its working position, the lectern surface is supported with its arm-side edge (10) on a catch stop (11) of the base plate. The arm hinged on the base plate forms the spine of a folder with the base plate and the lectern surface as a lid. The arm hinged on the lectern surface forms a stop when the lectern surface is in the working position.
