An edging strip for straddling over an edge flange &c. is made by enclosing in a flexible covering of e.g. plasticized vinyl chloride 8, ornamented if desired, a one piece sheet steel core strip 4 having a series of transversely extending core elements 6 connected intermediate their ends by frangible parts 7 and then forming the whole into a channel-shaped form. The parts 7 may be broken before, during or after the channel-shape formation. The parts 7 may be formed by transverse grooves 16 and apertures 17 enable the cover on one side of the metal strip to be bonded to the cover on the other side. The core covering is formed integrally with clamping ribs 1, 2.</p> |
