The set is assembled of two spreading plates (11, 13), the implant comprising two outer shells and an inner core, and a spreading device (21) for the distraction of the adjacent vertebrae. The spreading plates (11, 13) are designed as angle elements with a vertical segment (33) and a horizontal segment divided into two parts with a gap between them. The lower plate (13) is provided with two guiding pins (31) and recesses on top of the horizontal parts for the accommodation of expanding spreading elements (21) to be filled with a suitable fluid (59).
