The fluid operated rotational drive unit (11) has a housing (17) within which is a fluid passage system connected to a control valve fastened on the housing by a Namur interface and to a working chamber formed by the housing and actuating piston. The fluid passage system is constructed in such a way that for pressurizing the working chamber with fluid it is selectively connected to a first control valve through first connecting ports in the interface, or to a second control valve (14) through an additional interface (39) formed on the second side (19) of the housing and additional connecting ports provided there.
