PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for diagnosing and indicating fatigue damage to a boiler water-wall pipe by limiting the types of metal parts for measuring stress amplitude to 10 or less; dividing the boiler water-wall pipe into 1 to 2 square meters of sections; classifying the sections into a plurality of zones to give them an address; and calculating stress amplitude (sigma a) at locations where the metal parts are installed to ensure a quick evaluation, diagnosis and visual indication of the degree of damage due to corrosion and fatigue. SOLUTION: A method for diagnosing and indicating fatigue damage to a boiler water-wall pipe is provided which comprises dividing the boiler water- wall pipe in a plurality of sections with any fixed area: classifying the sections into a plurality of zones to give them an address; using metal parts installed in the sections for measuring stress amplitude to calculate stress amplitude (sigma a) on the inside surface of the pipe or welds; and thereby evaluating and visually indicating the degree of fatigue damage to the water-wall pipe for each section. |
