PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain more geographical information immediately by dividing a screen on which a map is displayed and displaying maps with different information simultaneously on the screen. SOLUTION: With the division of a display screen selected (step SC4), either a heading up map or a north up map is displayed on a second screen, which is one divided screen (step SC20, SC22). On a third screen, which is the remaining divided screen, a simplified map is displayed showing the absolute minimum information such as the present position of the own vehicle, direction of a destination, and distance to the destination (step SC24). After this, other guidance and display process are carried out (step SC18). |
