Gel bed has a heating mat (1) for controlling the temperature of the gel sack (2) of the bed. A heating gas or liquid medium circulates within the heating mat. The medium is heated using suitable heating means (5). Optimally the heating medium circulates in sinusoidally shaped capillary structures.
