The transporting device for transporting workpieces through a processing machine is in the form of a belt (4). There is a running groove (3) in the upper side of the guide rail (2), made to fit the belt, and from which the belt projects upwards. The running groove has a bottom (6) in which there are air apertures (7) connected to a source of compressed air.
